Anime-Kraze is looking for a freelance AFX Typesetter to help revitalize an ailing show.

We're looking for someone who is familiar with typesetting, After Effects, and Photoshop. Interested people would want to work on a challenging futuristic anime that often incorporates nonlinear motion, strange resizes, and implementations of Japanese website-style forms in its presentation. We will work with you to develop a vision of how to translate where translation wasn't intended, which may include multiple rounds of feedback, test encodes, and interaction with multiple members of the team.

We request commitment to an episode in its entirety, and would understand if you could only commit to one episode at a time. Of course, some episodes require a higher level of AFX Typesetting than others.

We are on a monthly release schedule, but AFX Typesetting work may increase the pace to a 2- or 3-week release schedule. If you stick with the show and work well with the group, other Anime-Kraze opportunities might (read: will) arise.

We've made it to 1000 releases! Someone in the earlier days of the anime-kraze website was smart enough to catalog all of our releases into one single database, and so we were able to keep a good track record.

Congratulations to everyone! In celebration, our website has been transformed! No longer shall we bear the striking resemblance to Inuyasha and some weird guy with blond hair!

Thanks to Snoop' for working the graphics, and for everyone's input on the process as it went along! There will be further updates as time passes, to include minor touch-ups, new banners (which are now MUCH EASIER TO DESIGN HOLY CRAP), and some more content to replace the missing codecs pages, FAQ pages, and contact pages lost during our first Great Server Outage.

Thank you all for your continued interest. We picked up two new QCers to help us with our spring and summer shows. If it seems that our load is still too large, then we'll start taking names again. We already have a small reserve going, so if you want to drop in and leave your contact info, feel free.

We're trying something new with QC recruiting -- the doors are now open for our rolling QC admissions process.

We're looking for intelligent and meticulous people to join our staff of quality checkers.

Brief list of requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of the English language is required.
• The ability to pay close attention to detail is required.
• Broadband internet and familiarity of IRC are required.
• Previous fansubbing experience is appreciated, but not required.
• Correct change is appreciated, but not required.

Those interested should be able to manage their own time schedule, and be prepared to devote free time to working with the staff, and checking release for errors at various stages of the fansub process.

Those interested would also enjoy working with a rowdy bunch of seasoned fansubbers, who pride themselves on quality releases.

The server that hosts our website, XDCC listing, development servers, forums, and DNS information has been offline for the last 36 hours due to a catastrophic incident at the data center where it resides. For a minute-by-minute analysis of our server's perilous day, view this link.

We were told early on that no data was lost, and thus, our services have been restored. Hurrah.

There may be a 24-48 hour outage window sometime down the line over the next two weeks, due to changeovers from temporary to permanent power replacements going on at the data center. We will let you know of outages when we are given the official downtime dates and times.

The forums were down for maintenance for approximately 50 minutes. They're back up now.

Changelog for those who care:

• Upgraded from SMF 1.1.2 to 1.1.4
• Fixed a bug with Spoiler administration that kept generating an entry in the error log.
• Fixed a bug with the Signature Settings administration that was lacking necessary information, generating an entry in the error log.

Our wiki is out of date, and doesn't actually contain any information. I'm going to write up a top-level Wiki content tree, but I need some help filling it with stuff. Anybody interested? Find me on IRC or via forum pm.
